Two seconds in and you're treated to Lionel Richie reference. Is this what you signed up for?
I sure hope so. Welcome to Grow with the Fro. I spent the afternoon mulling over whether to write an introductory post or not, but heck, here we are. I'm so excited to welcome you to my blog.
To those who have been around since 2016, you know that The Fro.Ever Blog is a real thing that happened. It was a place I shared my hair story and the hair stories of others as well as the odd review. It was incredibly special to me but I made the decision to put blogging aside to focus on my degree (a difficult decision, but so worth it).
However, so much has changed since then. So much growth has taken place- and I'm not just talking about my hair. I graduated in 2019 and one of the first things I wanted to take up again was blogging. Does anyone even blog anymore???? To be honest, that doesn't really bother me- the does anyone even blog anymore thing. I just had a feeling in my gut that this is something I have to do to, so here I am-doing it. If I'm being completely honest, I've been sitting on this since January 1st. The day I made my vision board. I've been working on it slowly, fretting about it and then forgetting about it. My pursuit of perfectionism can be my downfall. In this case I kept concerning myself with the teeny details like when is the perfect release date? Do I know what an SEO is? What if I get writers block? Are those teeny details? Am I overthinking this? Probably.
I don't know it all, but I think I know enough to put a word or two on the internet ya know.
Especially words about things that are important to me. For example the blog name. Why Grow with the Fro? First of all it rhymes so duh there's that. I joke I joke ( Intense narrator voice: she did in fact- not joke). And second of all Fro, my hair, my delicious head of hair that I've had quite a tumultuous relationship with throughout my life is an important part of my identity. Yes India.Arie said "I am not my hair",and I do agree with her. I am most certainly not my hair and I am actually so much more. My hair, however, remains a pivotal part of my identity and I choose to honor my crown and also have a bunch of fun with it. Also, @fro.ever is a thing, but it's a thing that's growing up- and that is what this blog is about.

I do hope that you'll enjoy the content that I create for you. Here's to growing through it!
